The Wildland Fire Academy (November 10-15) offers essential training for aspiring wildland firefighters. This intensive program covers fundamental safety protocols, fire behavior analysis, and practical firefighting techniques—serving as the crucial first step toward obtaining a Red Card certification, which is required for wildland firefighting employment.
The Forestry and Wildland Firefighting Certificate program provides comprehensive training in both wildland firefighting techniques and forest management practices. This integrated approach equips students with the skills to not only fight fires but also understand forest ecosystems, implement preventative measures, and contribute to sustainable forest management. Graduates emerge with practical skills for immediate employment and the ecological knowledge needed to maintain healthy forest environments.
