Educators with the CU Denver School of Education & Human Development will discuss higher education as part of the West African philosophy of Sankofa, which translates to “it is not taboo to go back and fetch what you forgot”. The Sankofa Imperative illustrates how institutions can utilize historical lessons and community wisdom to improve today’s educational equity and remove systemic barriers.
