Federal Pell Grant

A need-based grant provided to low-income undergraduate students that does not have to be paid back*.

  • Must have demonstrated Financial Need determined by FAFSA through your Estimated Family Contribution (EFC)
  • EFC must be between 0-5711
  • Awards for the 2019-2020 academic year range from $639 to $6345
  • Pro-rated based on enrollment
  • Lifetime eligibility used for Pell is the equivalent of 6 years at full-time enrollment (600%)

*Total withdrawal from classes or all failing grades in a semester may result in paying back grant funds, always consult the PCC Financial Aid Office when considering a withdrawal.

Pell Grant Requirements

  • File the FAFSA every year you are enrolled for classes.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Be enrolled for at least one credit hour at PCC.
  • Declare a major or degree that is eligible for FAFSA, almost all degrees at PCC are eligible.
  • Not already have a bachelors degree.


Colorado Student Grant (CSG)

This grant is a first-come, first-served fund available to Colorado residents who demonstrate financial need (determined by the EFC from FAFSA).

  • Must be attending at least 6 credit hours
  • EFC must be between 0-8566
  • Pro-rated based on enrollment


Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

This grant is a first-come, first-served fund available to non-resident PCC students with exceptional financial need (as determined by the EFC from FAFSA).

  • Must be attending at least 6 credit hours
  • Students at PCC must have a Pell eligible EFC to qualify
