Inclement Weather Operational Guidelines
During inclement weather, the college will determine if the operational level at any of the campuses or sites should change to one of the following levels.
For decisions about on-site clinic/salon (dental hygiene and cosmetology), the dean and department chair will communicate the decision to faculty, students, and patients/clients.
Snow Day – Campus/site closed
All classes will be canceled.* All student services and non-essential college operations will be closed.
- Students: Do not report to campus/site. Classes will be canceled and made up at a later date. Internships and clinicals may be required to report – check with the instructor, clinical coordinator, or field work supervisor.
- Faculty and instructors: Do not report to campus/site. Classes will be canceled and made up at a later date. Direct supervisors will reach out to their staff with further information regarding internships and clinicals.
- Staff: Do not report to campus/site. All student services and non-essential college operations will be closed. Essential staff will report as directed by their supervisor. Administrative leave may apply if the job duties must be performed on campus and the employee cannot work remotely.

Remote Day – Access to campus/site remotely
All classes will move to remote delivery where possible. Classes that cannot move to remote instruction will be canceled. All college operations and student services will move to remote delivery where possible.
- Students: Do not report to campus/site. Attend classes remotely at your regularly scheduled time unless the course is a hands-on lab or studio, in which case the course material may be offered online asynchronously or canceled and made up at a later date. Please check MyCourses prior to scheduled class time. Internships and clinicals may be required to report – check with the instructor, clinical coordinator, or field work supervisor.
- Faculty and instructors: Do not report to campus/site. Instructors will teach class from home or offer content asynchronously. Classes that cannot be taught remotely will be canceled and made up at a later date. Direct supervisors will reach out to their staff with further information regarding internships and clinicals.
- Staff: Do not report to campus/site. Staff will move to remote work as directed by their supervisor. Essential staff will report as directed by their supervisor. Administrative leave may apply if the job duties must be performed on campus and the employee cannot work remotely.
Delayed start
Traditional delayed start with all classes, including on-site clinicals, beginning on or after the delayed start time. All on-site college operations and student services will open at the delayed start time. Lengthy classes that begin before the delayed start time may resume at the delayed start time, per the instructor.
- Students: Attend classes as usual from the delayed start time. Internships and clinicals may be required to report – check with the instructor, clinical coordinator, or field work supervisor.
- Faculty and instructors: Do not report to campus/site or instruct classes, even remotely, prior to the delayed start time. Begin teaching as usual from the delayed start time. Direct supervisors will reach out to their staff with further information regarding internships and clinicals.
- Staff: All non-essential staff will be on administrative leave until start time. Essential staff will report prior to the delayed start time as directed by their supervisor. Staff not able or wanting to report must use annual leave or a personal day.
Early closure
Early closure in which lab, studio, or clinical courses may be canceled, but courses that can be delivered remotely will resume in the evening after employees and students have time to get home. Classes or on-site clinics that are in progress at the early closure time may be dismissed at that time, per the instructor. All on-site college operations and student services will close at the early closure time.
- Students: Do not report to campus/site for classes that begin at or after the early closure time. Attend evening classes remotely at your regularly scheduled time unless the course is a hands-on lab or studio, in which case the course material may be offered online asynchronously or canceled and made up at a later date. Please check MyCourses prior to scheduled class time. Internships and clinicals may be required to report – check with the instructor, clinical coordinator, or field work supervisor.
- Faculty and Instructors: For evening classes, do not report to campus/site. Instructors will teach class from home or offer content asynchronously. Classes that cannot be taught remotely will be canceled and made up at a later date. Direct supervisors will reach out to their staff regarding internships and clinicals.
- Staff: Staff will leave campus/site and may finish their work remotely. Administrative leave may apply if the job duties must be performed on campus and the employee cannot work remotely. Essential staff may continue working after the early closure time as directed by their supervisor.
