March 9th

Mary Shelley Chautauqua

06:00pm - 07:00pm

Please join us for the Mary Shelley Chautauqua March 9 at 6 p.m. at Pueblo Community College in the Hoag Theater in the Davis Academic Building.

English writer Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley (1797-1851) may be best known as the author of Frankenstein, but there was more to her than her creature creation. She was also a teenage mother, behind-the-scenes supporter of social reform, romantic, and scholar.

Portrayed by actor and scholar Susan Marie Frontczak, learn how Mary painted her own personal experience with a vivid imagination to build this to build this original and enduring work of science fiction.

This program consists of a monologue in-character, followed by a Q&A conversation with the character of Mary Shelley, then a Q&A session with Susan Marie Frontczak.

This program will also stream on the Pueblo library Facebook and YouTube pages. Co-sponsored by Pueblo Community College.
