Our instructors have more than 50 years of combined clinical experience in all areas of respiratory therapy and hold a valid credential to teach in post-secondary education. We maintain a strong working relationship with surrounding hospitals and their respiratory therapy departments.
Our Associate of Applied Science Respiratory Therapy program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
Pueblo Community College offers a fully online Bachelor of Applied Science degree advancement for Registered Respiratory Therapist.
Respiratory Therapists apply scientific principles to prevent, identify and treat acute or chronic cardiopulmonary diseases. We will prepare you for a rewarding profession that will reach patients from acute care settings to rehabilitation programs such as asthma education.

RT program graduates may sit for the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentialing exam that is required in the United States to work as a respiratory therapist.
You can also use your degree from PCC as a stepping stone to complete your bachelor's degree.
The profession has experienced an evolution in scope of practice, complexity of clinical skills and diversity of patient care. There is a growing need for critical thinking and non-technical skills, resulting in a demand for respiratory therapists who demonstrate skills in quality communication, deductive reasoning, management and education.
We offer you a comprehensive educational program to prepare you to be a leader in the field of respiratory therapy in leadership, education and advanced career opportunities.
For this program, you will need access to a computer with broadband internet that can stream video and audio. Your course may also require hardware such as a headset with microphone. Technical support is available for all courses.
