PCC spring enrollment jumps nearly 14%

PUEBLO – Pueblo Community College spring 2026 enrollment increased 13.7% over the spring 2025 semester, according to official enrollment data.

PCC’s overall spring headcount, which includes branch campuses in Cañon City and Mancos and a site in Durango, stands at 6,928 students, making it the largest college in southern Colorado. Officials expect that number to increase even more once late-start classes and other initiatives are taken into account.

“Our enrollment growth reflects the confidence our communities place in the education and support we provide. We are delivering on our mission through relevant academic programs and comprehensive services that help students succeed,” said Mike Gage, PCC’s vice president of student success. “Every student has a place at PCC, and we stand firmly behind them on their path to achievement.”

Among those enrolled at PCC, 66% are first-generation students – the first in their family to attend college – and 50% identify as students of color. This semester, 68% of students received some form of financial aid to help them pay for their education.

The college continues to see the most growth in areas such as welding, automotive technology, and health care programs such as radiology. In response to community workforce needs, PCC will add aviation maintenance and Practical Nursing Plus programs and a bachelor’s degree in sonography, all of which will debut in fall 2026.

To accommodate learners who want to add to their existing skill set or learn new skills in a shorter time frame, PCC will also introduce certificate programs in criminal justice, investigation and general education foundational skills, as well as several micro certificates in medical coding.
