Important Update: Changes to Banner Self-Service Access

To help protect the security of student and institutional data, System IT has removed internet access to Banner Self-Service 8 (SSB8), effective immediately. While this change may cause some inconvenience, it is a necessary step to safeguard the information entrusted to the college.

What This Means for Students

Registration

Students will no longer be able to access SSB8 Registration from off campus. To register for classes or make schedule changes, students can:

  • Use EAB Navigate
  • Use the SSB9 Registration System
  • Visit campus and access SSB8 from a campus network

College Opportunity Fund (COF) and Stipend History

Students will only be able to access Accept COF and View Stipend History while on campus from Friday, May 29 through noon on Sunday, June 7, 2026.

Following the planned Banner upgrades on June 7, students are expected to regain access to these features both on and off campus. Testing is currently underway.

National Student Clearinghouse

Students will temporarily be unable to access the National Student Clearinghouse through the student portal when off campus. System IT is working to restore this functionality as quickly as possible.

Updating Personal Information

Students will temporarily be unable to update personal information in Banner from off-campus locations. Restoration of this service is being prioritized.

Accessing Banner Services

Many Banner-related applications will remain available:

  • On campus using the college network
  • Off campus through VPN (where applicable)

Faculty, advisors, and staff who use Banner applications such as Faculty Self-Service, FLAC, unofficial transcripts, roster pages, and withdrawal date tools can continue to access these systems on campus or through VPN.

Looking Ahead

System IT recognizes that this change is disruptive and was implemented on short notice. Protecting student and institutional data remains the highest priority. Efforts are already underway to safely restore affected services and complete the scheduled Banner upgrades.
