Broadcasting & Production Technology

Why PCC?

Our instructors are professionals currently working with local media companies and news organizations, and as entrepreneurs. Many instructors have more than 20 years of experience in related fields, bringing current and real-world experience straight into the classroom.

PCC’s program facilities include a fully equipped video control room, non-linear editing suites and a mobile production truck to provide students with state-of-the-art learning environments on and off campus.

What will I learn?

This certificate program prepares you to seek employment as an entry-level assistant or technician. It emphasizes practical application of the concepts and principles of broadcasting production.

You’ll have the opportunity for work-study employment and/or an internship with the PCC Center for New Media (CNM). The CNM staff produces live sporting events on public access television as well as live broadcasts of local community events.

Credits for your courses can be applied to PCC’s Associate of General Studies degree in Mass Communications. Completion of the ASG degree allows you to transfer as a junior into the Mass Communications bachelor degree program at Colorado State University Pueblo.
