Program Student Learning Outcomes

Graduated of the Dental Hygiene Program will:

  1. Be prepared academically and clinically to take the national and regional/state dental hygiene licensing examinations.
  2. Be prepared to provide quality preventive and therapeutic care utilizing professional knowledge, judgment and skill.
  3. Be able to demonstrate critical thinking, interpersonal communication, ethical reasoning, decision making, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
  4. Be prepared to pursue lifelong professional growth and development opportunities through self-directed learning, continuing education and participation in professional organizations.
  5. Provide guidance, information, evaluation and role modeling that will foster the development of a skilled dental health professional.
