
Library Technician
Why PCC?
PCC’s Library Technician degree and certificate courses are online, allowing you greater flexibility as you manage school and life.
If you pursue the AAS degree program in Library Technician, you must complete 60 credits of General Education requirements, core requirements and approved electives.
Those pursuing the certificate program in Library Technician must complete 30 credits of General Education requirements, core requirements and approved electives.
What will I learn?
You will learn a series of key library functions, including collection management (selecting and acquiring materials), cataloging basics for Dewey and Library of Congress, processing and repairing library materials, circulating and shelving materials, helping patrons with reference, resource-sharing services, and managing a small library or media center.
You will also acquire the non-technical skills needed to be a successful library technician, such as customer service, listening, speaking, writing, attention to detail, and working as a member of a team.
