What will I learn?

The paramedic level is the highest recognized in Colorado for out-of-hospital emergency medical personnel. Paramedics have a higher level of training in patient assessment, pathophysiology, diagnostics and treatment.

Our program will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed for scene management, emergency patient care and transport. This includes scene safety, patient assessment and treatment, medication administration, documentation and patient transport. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be eligible to take the National Registry exam; upon passing the exam, you may apply for Colorado State Certification at your level of training.

The Paramedic program requires a background check and drug screen before admittance.

Program Goal:

To prepare Paramedics who are competent in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains to enter the profession.

Career opportunities

As an EMS professional, you may work for an ambulance service, fire department, in tactical EMS, critical care transport, or as an emergency department paramedic. If you graduate with an AAS degree, you have additional career opportunities in administration and management in the pre-hospital field.
