Dozens of student artists featured in fall art show

More than 30 Pueblo Community College students were honored Dec. 5 at the opening reception for the Fall 2024 Student Art Show.

Entrants submitted work in the categories of ceramics, drawing and figure drawing, 2D design, 3D design, photography and jewelry. The awards recognized first, second and third place in each category, and honorable mention. Additional honors went to the best of show, juror’s choice and chair’s choice award recipients. The President’s Purchase Award, selected by PCC President Chato Hazelbaker, will become part of the college’s permanent collection.

The exhibit is open to the public through Dec. 10 in the San Juan Gallery (SJ-205) on the second floor of the San Juan building. Hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and admission is free. Parking is available in the adjacent lot on Marilyn Place.

The exhibit is presented by the Fine Arts, Humanities & Media Communications department. The virtual gallery features the current exhibition and previous student shows from 2020-2023.
