PCC names new vice president of student success

PUEBLO – Following a national search, Michael Gage, a longtime employee of Pueblo Community College, has been named the school’s vice president of student success.

"Mike has done great work at PCC and has the right background and experience to continue to move our student success efforts forward," said PCC President Chato Hazelbaker. "I am happy to be working alongside him."

Gage has been at PCC since 2007 working as senior director for student support and outreach. He has been recognized at the state and national levels for his efforts to create a success coach program at the college.

Prior to joining PCC, he worked for the University of Miami for more than a decade. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English and secondary education at Adams State College and a master’s degree in higher educational administration from Arizona State University.

Gage is a longtime Pueblo athletics official. He also serves on the board of directors of the Pueblo Community Health Center.

“I am deeply honored to step into the role of vice president of student success at PCC,” he said. “I am privileged to work alongside an incredibly talented and dedicated team of professionals who are wholeheartedly committed to putting students at the center of everything they do. Their passion and focus on student well-being and achievement are inspiring, and I am excited to lead this team in expanding our support systems to enhance every student’s journey.”

Gage has served as interim vice president since the June departure of Heather Speed, who accepted a position in another state.
