PUEBLO – Pueblo Community College fall 2026 enrollment is up 18% over September 2025, with final enrollment numbers expected to reflect an increase between 7% and 10%.
"Enrollment is a bit of a roller coaster and our numbers will fluctuate throughout the term, but it feels great to be up by double digits today,” said PCC President Chato Hazelbaker. "This is the outcome of an intentional plan and diligent work by our faculty, staff and students.
“When PCC grows, it's good for Pueblo and the region. It means we have more nurses, firefighters, cops, welders, radiologists and other professionals that are so desperately needed in our communities."
PCC currently serves more than 6,100 students through its locations in Pueblo, Cañon City, Mancos and Durango, according to official enrollment data, making it the largest college in southern Colorado.
“Our tremendous growth affirms what our communities already know: PCC provides high-quality academic programs that are relevant, accessible and responsive to the needs of our region,” said Mike Gage, PCC’s vice president of student success. The growth of PCC’s welding and automotive programs recently prompted plans to purchase a Pueblo West building to accommodate the demand. Several new bachelor-degree programs will be added over the coming year, and an aviation maintenance technician program is expected to launch in 2027 through PCC’s corporate college.
Among PCC’s student population, 3,471 are first-generation – the first in their family to attend college – and 2,169 are adult learners. PCC also serves hundreds of high school students through its concurrent enrollment programs with local school districts.
