Pueblo Community College (PCC) cares about students and offers an approach to their mental and emotional needs through community partnerships we have developed over the years. The Pueblo campus offers referral services that will address issues by utilizing community advocates like Health Solutions and the Health Clinic. These services take a holistic approach to care. Services are available for students in need of a referral, or if they just need a moment to vent. PCC believes in solutions to life’s most difficult concerns, and this is why the College will work to connect students with the professional care they deserve.
Referral and guidance services at PCC are available to you—for your convenience, please review the resources listed on this page to help you navigate challenging times to include crisis support resources. PCCs Health Clinic has partnered with the Pueblo Community Health Center to provide PCC and the Pueblo community healthcare and behavioral health services. Assessment and referral services for students needing ongoing counseling, mental health, and alcohol assistance are offered through a collaborative partnership with local community agencies.
Pueblo students have access to the healthcare and behavioral health services provided at the PCC Health Clinic located on the Pueblo campus. Students will need to become patients of the PCC Health Clinic to receive healthcare and behavioral health services; this clinic does bill insurance. PCC is in partnership with the Department of Human Services (DHS) and have representatives on the Pueblo campus to assist TANF recipients and provide general information and referrals for students in need of social services. The Panther Student Pantry (PSP) collaborates with Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado to assist in overcoming food needs. Currently, enrolled students can utilize this service once a week. Students may select six (6) unique food items and one hygiene product. The Pueblo pantry is open Monday and Wednesday’s from 10:00 a.m. through 12:00 p.m., and Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. when classes are in session. The Pueblo Campus pantry is on the lower level of the Davis Academic Building (AB), Room 015.
The Fremont Campus: please visit the pantry in the Learning Resource Center (L127) Tuesday’s from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.; and Wednesday’s from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Appointments may be scheduled outside of these hours.
Mancos Campus visit the Go!Zone and their hours are from Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. when classes are in session.
The Mobile Pantry in collaboration with Pueblo Care and Share is open to students, staff, and the community in need of food. Students and staff are invited to stop by at the Pueblo Campus on the first Tuesday of each month from 11:30 a.m. until all food items are distributed. Food items are distributed in the Student Center, first floor located off Harrison Street. The Psychology and Social Workers Careers and Resources for Education (PSC) are students interested in the areas of psychology and social work with a student support system to help with awareness, resources, and education for future careers. The PCC Reach Out app is a free and completely anonymous. Students experiencing an immediate crisis such a family crisis, suicidal thoughts, bullying, stress, depression, and need to talk with a professional may contact the Colorado Crises Services at 1.844.493.8255 to speak with a licensed therapist or a peer specialist 24 hours a day/seven days a week. By calling the 2-1-1 number, students may receive assistance at any of the college campuses/sites. Services offered by calling the 211 number are assistance or referrals for: housing, utility needs, food, health, job support, or have a crises or emergency. Calling the 211 number will put you in contact with the specific region and local resources available (Regions 4 for the Durango Area, and Regions 6 for the Fremont and Pueblo areas. Health Solutions, available at 719-568-3750, provide early intervention services to assist those who are experiencing stressful, traumatic, or demanding situation that if not addressed quickly, could turn into a crisis or emergent situation. This is a mobile service reaching out to individual living in the city and county of Pueblo, CO who are in need. Health Solutions has a drop-in mental health clinic located at 1302 Chinook Lane in Pueblo. Other services provided through this agency include: diagnostic evaluation, individual, couple, or family therapy, medications, substance abuse/DUI, and domestic violence emergency, acute care school-based, early childhood, vocational and adult residential.
