Community Education

The Center has the ability to offer the following services which can be individualized to meet the needs of the community, consumer, or healthcare facility:

• Simulation training and/or competency testing requiring curriculum development
• Simulation training and/or competency testing without curriculum          
• Competency testing using low/mid fidelity or skill training manikins
• Seminar, workshops requiring curriculum development and organization.  Resources are available for anatomy lab and simulation center.
• Classroom or lab facilities for education/agency use

Anatomy Exploration through Cadaver Dissection

This annual one day hands-on class will refresh your understanding of human anatomy through active dissection.  The class begins with a detailed excursion through the prosected cadavers. Primary dissectors explain and demonstrate what the donor body has revealed through the 2 year longprocess of dissection.  In the second portion of the class participants are provided instruction on dissection and given the opportunity to dissect any area of the body. This course is typically offered in mid-May.

Southern Colorado Clinical Scholar Coalition Curriculum

This 3 day course is designed for clinical instructors, preceptors or anyone supervising students in the clinical setting.  It includes lectures on the clinical scholar role, conflict management, generational diversity, learning styles, motivating critical thinking, and professional communication.  Completion of the course satisfies the vocational credential renewal requirement for CCCS part-time nursing instructors.
