Why Summer? Why Not?

There are a number of reasons to take advantage of summer classes at Pueblo Community College, especially after the challenges of last year. It’s a great time to consider what summer classes could do for you:

• Financial aid is available – see below for more information
• Remote options – take classes on or off campus fitting your life and where you want to be
• Fast-track classes – Summer classes are only 8-weeks long
• Smaller classes – more one-on-one attention
• Graduate sooner – Nursing students could get into the program almost a year earlier
• Improve GPA – concentrate on just a few classes to help you get better grades
• Stay on track – keep moving forward; students are 5x more likely to graduate and graduate on time if they take summer classes.
• Rebuild confidence – fewer classes means greater focus and more success
• Complete a challenging course – more one-on-one attention with less distraction
• Ease into college – been out of school awhile, summer is a great time to get into the college groove

Financial Aid is available

It’s true! Year-round Pell grants are available to use in the summer. The Federal Pell Grant Program allows eligible students to receive up to 150% of their scheduled Pell Grant offer, also known as Year-Round Pell. This allows students who were enrolled full time in both the fall and spring semesters to receive an additional grant offer in the summer semester.
