Student Achievement Data

As part of its mission, the PCC Institutional Research Office regularly shares student achievement data with the College’s internal and external stakeholders. In addition, the Student Right-to-Know Act (1990) requires institutions eligible for Title IV funding to calculate and disclose completion or graduation rates of certificate- or degree-seeking, full-time students entering that institution. The following links provide a snapshot of PCC’s most recent student achievement data.

Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) – Each year, colleges and universities that participate in the federal student financial aid programs provide IPEDS with a wide range of institutional-level data.

  • The Completion survey collects the number of degrees and certificates awarded by field of study, level of award, race/ethnicity, and gender.
  • The Graduation Rates survey provides the percentage of students who completed their program within a time period equal to one and a half times (150%) the normal period of time as well as the percentage of students who transferred to other institutions within the same timeframe. Both the graduation rate and the transfer-out rate are based on a cohort of full-time, first-time degree and certificate-seeking undergraduate students.
  • In the Outcome Measures survey, degree-granting institutions report the outcomes of students who are not only first-time, full-time students, but also part-time attending and non-first-time (transfer-in) students. The award status is measured at specific points in times.
  • Additional information about PCC (e.g., student expenses, enrollment) is available through the IPEDS College Navigator.
  • Additional data may be found in the PCC Data Book.

Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE) – Comparative student achievement data, including fall-to-fall retention rates, graduation rates, and transfer rates are available through the Reports & Publications page of the CDHE website.

Each year, Colorado community colleges collect placement information (e.g., employment, continuing education) from students who completed a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program during the previous academic year.
